Red Deer Lodge 05, Loch Rannoch Highland Club

Great value place to stay in a stunning location. Positive: This was not a 'lodge' as I'd expected but a self- contained unit in a block of 8. As a place to stay, it was a good size - a twin bedroom with ensuite and a large, very well equipped, living/dining/kitchen room and a lovely glass enclosed balcony space with double doors the opened to the wonderful view over the loch. It was comfortable and very clean - excellent value for money. There are a series of blocks - they are a little way along the coast from the village - up past the big Highland hotel and up the steep hill behind it. Parking is a bit tight but gives 1 space per unit. The reception is back in the village staffed by a very helpful young lady. Kinloch Rannoch is a very beautiful location for a short break and I would happily recommend this as a great place to stay. Negative: Parking required a bit of manoeuvring in tight spaces.

Relaxing night away Positive: Location was perfect and the chalet was exactly what we needed. The accommodation was spotless Stunning views of the loch and surrounding hills and mountain Negative: I didn’t know I was going to be changed for electricity separately. I was unable to check the meter reading before I left.

Unromantic stay and the room hadn't been hoovered because there was rose petals in the bedroom from Positive: I booked a double bed and a sofa bed . didn't find out till late on it was two singles .when I said to the woman at reception in the morning when checking out . She said what do you want me to do about it . She was abrupt and rude , it's not what I paid for Negative: I ordered a double bed and got two singles , the woman at reception was abrupt and rude and said what do you want me to do about it.

Positive: Location, location, location Negative: Parking

Excellent and relaxing holiday weekend, highly recommended Positive: Excellent Loch views and very comfortable room. Good WiFi connection and kitchen well stocked. Negative: Only 2 minor dislikes, a bar of soap required in the shower and more than 2 coffee capsules required in the kitchen. Parking for 5 Red Deer a bit tight. Rigorous departure instructions.
